HowayFest is a vibrant festival of culture based in Newcastle, offering a diverse array of events that span across the arts & music. This celebration brings together local talent and international acts to create an immersive cultural experience to all which will include 9 individual gigs, featuring 28 bands across some of the best venues in the North East.
PALMA LOUCA
Ethereal-Shoegaze quintet Palma Louca are known for both their meticulous approach to songwriting and ambitious soundscapes they envisage; their signature sound incorporates reverb-drenched melodies and layers of sublime sonic textures, culminating in a distinct music identity. Following the success of singles Billion and Black Snow the band have since released two singles – “Stationary Life” & “Us and Them” – to widespread critical acclaim from music tastemakers such as Phonograph Me, When The Horn Blows, csgmblog, Little Indie Blogs, and The Revue, to name a few. The momentum that Palma Louca have been gaining has led to tour opportunities for the band which has seen the group play to packed venues in York, Sheffield, Liverpool, Stockton, Sunderland, and their home city of Newcastle.
CRAIG REDPATH
Influenced by the indie scene of the 90’s and 00’s, Craig’s gfirst two singles ‘It’s Funny How’ & ‘Fractured’ reached number 4 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart. With 3 sold out headline shows in the North East under his belt, he shows no signs of stopping, with a debut EP ‘Orange Sun’ out now.
CENTRAL ARCADE
An alternative Rock band from Newcastle Upon Tyne formed in September of 2023, and quickly hitting the local music scene playing in pubs and supporting bands in venues around the North East. In April they won RGS’ Battle Of The Bands and shortly after, released debut single, “Apple Of Your Eye”.
