The Empty Page don’t write love songs. Instead, you’ll find subjects like bed rot, toxic beauty standards, and the end of the fucking world set to catchy melodies, layered over bleak, shimmering guitar lines and fuzzy riffs. These are anxious, energetic songs for our times.
The band (vocalist/bassist Kel, guitarist Giz and drummer Steve) recorded their debut LP, Unfolding, with Gggarth Richardson (RATM/Biffy Clyro/Melvins) in Vancouver, Canada, followed by a trio of 7-inches on Punk Fox records, including When The Cloud Explodes which was played by multiple DJs on BBC 6 Music and added to Spotify’s Punk List. Their second album, Imploding, was produced by Morton Kong at Eve, Stockport and further cemented their alternative, cult appeal with airplay on BBC R1 and praise from tastemaker bloggers.
In November 2026, the band released the apocalyptic road trip anthem When We Gonna Run?, the first of three singles produced by Matt Peel (Eagulls, Dream Wife, Bodega) at Nave Studios, a former church in Leeds. Woozy shoegaze-goth lament to a pensionless future, Death On Our Side, came next, building momentum with each release. In the past couple of months, the band has gained 10k new followers across its social media platforms, with the latest single, A Feminine Ending, shared on social media by Shirley Manson, Courtney Love and Erykah Badu.
This hard-working independent band has toured the UK and beyond for a decade. Recent support slots include The Lovely Eggs, Desperate Journalist, Marky Ramone and Republica. Festival appearances: Kendal Calling (via BBC Intro), Rebellion and Manchester Punk Fest. Their Manchester hometown headline shows always sell out.
Things are starting to hot up, and with a headline tour of tiny venues planned for autumn 2026, you might want to catch The Empty Page on small stages while you still can.
